‘Under the shadow of the Almighty’

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. (Psalms 91:1-4)

The physical affirmation of disease should always be met with the mental negation. … Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God’s government. (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 392-393)

The Healer

Like a small pebble so gently tossed

Into the world’s large lake

Your prayer ripples my consciousness

From dreams, I now awake.

My heart a kite to wind unfurled

Rejoices at your prayer.

With Spirit’s updraft I can rise

From seascape into air.

Fear can’t separate us, you and me.

Through the ever clear windows of time

From the other side of the street or world

We wave at each other’s smiling faces.

We can’t touch but still we can talk

Over cell phones and computers

We share our love, our commonality

For we are still all brothers and sisters.

I will not let a disease isolate me

It can quarantine my body but never my mind.

It cannot keep you from caring

It can’t keep me from who I am.
